或许\大多数乐迷对於发表首张大碟「The Rising Tied」的Fort Minor还不熟悉，但正如率先面世的Double A-Side十二寸黑胶中作品之一\"Remember The Name\"的曲名般，从这一刻起绝对要牢记这个名字，因为此乃身拥三千五百万张销量与葛莱美奖肯定之Nu-Metal/Mixture-Rock天团Linkin Park核心成员Mike Shinoda的Side Project。

一直以来，身为LP主音MC的Mike Shinoda其实更扮演了重要的核心创作角色，同时与外界合作频繁――不要忘记他曾先後连同两位LP团员Joseph Hahn与Chester Bennington，分别为X-Ecutioners与Handsome Boy Modeling School这两大Hip Hop组合的专辑跨刀带来\"It\'s Goin\' Down\"与\"Rock And Roll (Could Never Hip Hop Like This) Part 2\"，还受邀为Depeche Mode经典旧作Enjoy The Silence炮制Remix收录於Remixes 81―04中；是以最终他是首位以个人姿态出击的LP成员，也属意料中事。
形式上，於LP与华纳合作成立的自家厂牌Machine Shop Records(由Linkin Park吉他手Brad Delson担任厂牌A&R)旗下发表的「The Rising Tied」是一张Mike的个人专辑，但会选择以Fort Minor名义而非自己名字发表，是因为Mike将之视为一个有不少圈中好手共同参予、具无限可能性的音乐计划，而不只是一张个人专辑那麽简单。Mike也在接受MTV访问时说明了命名为Fort Minor的原因: 「Fort表示某种沈重、强硬的感觉，而Minor可以有两种解释，其一意思是渺小微弱，其二是――音乐的理论中有两种基本的和弦，大调或者小调，一般来说小调和弦听起来比较黑暗、忧伤。这张专辑便是关於这些极端元素并置时所可能激荡产生的动能与创作光谱，因此Fort Minor这个名字再适合不过。」
不过千万不要以为Mike Shinoda会带来另一张LP式唱片，相反地，他所意图完成的，正是一张足以反映其深厚Hip Hop底蕴的个人化作品，是以在先前LP那张Mash-Up专辑「Collision Course」合作愉快并与Mike结成好友的Hip Hop核心指标Jay-Z，便受邀出任执行制作。
「The Rising Tied」是一张直接了当的Hip Hop唱片，於是乎我们也见到Mike邀集多位Hip Hop好手跨刀助阵。多年好友兼自家厂牌旗下单位Styles Of Beyond无疑是整个Fort Minor计划中不可或缺的一股力量，多首作品中都可见到他们的演出声影；其中\"Remember The Name\"在大量弦乐铺陈下酝酿著山雨欲来的慑人张力，与The Roots成员Black Thought联袂献声、透过钢琴剪影营造幽悒氛围的\"Right Now\"灵感来自於导演劳勃阿特曼电影「Short Cuts」(银色性男女)，与Common一同演出、描述洛杉矶生活点滴的\"Back Home\"流露低回Moody的骚灵气息，而与Alt-Funk艺人Kenna以及加州Alternative Metal乐团Far主唱Jonah Matranga携手合作、隐约蛰伏Funk-Metal破坏力的\"Red To Black\"则堪称专辑中最为摇滚的一曲。此外，唱作俱佳的Neo-Soul才子John Legend为\"High Road\"献声并伴奏钢琴，LP战友DJ Joe Hahn与Mike则再度并肩谱出\"Slip Out The Back\"这首悲怆深沉之作。
\"Where’d You Go?\"肯定是专辑中最为动人的慢板乐章，自家厂牌Machine Shop女歌手Holly Brook惹人心疼的天使嗓音与加州Alternative Metal乐团Far主唱Jonah Matranga的Rappin\'的演绎，在苦涩感伤的Hip Hop Ballad曲式中展现丝丝入扣的细腻感。不可忽略的还有\"Kenji\"这首试图捕捉到早期Public Enemy精神、弥漫著纠结不安情绪的作品，本身是日俄混血的Mike在歌曲中透过回忆录体裁，纪录著第二次大战期间，美国拘留所里日本公民被囚禁的故事。
