   如果说丹尼尔·波特（Daniel Powter）是典型的靠一首单曲就红透半边天的歌手，相信没有人会反驳，而事实也的确如此。去年，首支个人单曲《Bad Day》在多个国家的排行榜上所取得的佳绩使这位今年已经35岁的加拿大男歌手开始得到歌迷的关注。在主打单曲《Bad Day》在Billboard Hot 100单曲榜中夺冠之后，Daniel Powter首张个人专辑《Daniel Powter》终于在4月11日在美国发行。依靠这支成功的冠军单曲的协助，本张专辑在美国发行的第一周还是得到了不少歌迷的响应，首周销量达到8万9千张，名列本周Billboard 200专辑榜第九位。

    《Daniel Powter》中所有十首歌曲的词曲创作全部由Daniel Powter一人包办，而本张专辑的制作人是曾与保罗·麦卡特尼（Paul McCartney），苏珊娜·维加（Suzanne Vega）和阿尔维斯·卡斯特罗（Elvis Costello）等多位知名歌手歌手合作过的米歇尔·福鲁姆（Mitchell Froom）。本张专辑的整体风格和主打单曲《Bad Day》类似，大多数歌曲都以钢琴为主旋律。除了已经大受欢迎的《Bad Day》之外（虽然这首歌的走红沾了“美国偶像”节目不少光），《Song 6》，《Free Loop》，《Jimmy Gets High》，《Styrofoam》和《Lost On The Stoop》都是旋律较为出色而且易上口的单曲。有意思的是，Daniel Powter在演唱《Jimmy Gets High》高音部分的时候就像是钢琴版的詹姆斯·布朗特（James Blunt）。
