Personality
Athrun in depth
The section about Athrun's personality has been divided into his actions, beliefs and deciscions made in the first season, Gundam SEED, and in the sequel, Gundam SEED Destiny, simply because it's rather obvious there are a lot of differences in his attitude. However, a lot of misunderstandings concerning his personality lie especially in Destiny, and we will try our very hardest to clear any confusion, and to provide you with some detailed in-depth information why we believe basically.. he is no different from the beginning on. We really do hope we can provide you with a better understanding for the redcoat prince.

Relationships
with the other SEEDers

As one of the protagonists of the series, Athrun is conveyed to meet a bunch of different characters with various types of personalities. The way he behaves towards them, or simply ignores them tells us a lot about his personality. Some of his relationships are sometimes highly misunderstood, because yes, the guy does not always know how to express his feelings nor how to deal with them.

Style
Athrun's outfits throughout the serie
This section has for only purpose to recall every of Athrun's outfit through the serie. The colors we always associate with Athrun are mainly purple, green and red. This is very obvious just looking at his pilots uniforms or simply at his Gundams. But even in civilian outfits, Athrun keeps on wearing those colors, and one just can't say it does not fit him :D
Uniforms
With all the various events happening in the serie, Athrun is bound to change uniform according to where he stands. However, we mainly see him in the usual ZAFT Red Coat that he will wear during all Gundam SEED, even when he stands along with the Archangel. Of course, when he's assigned to FAITH, he has to put the mark on his usual Red Coat. And finally, he endorsed Orb's uniform at the end of Gundam SEED Destiny.
Pilot's Uniforms
The same goes for the pilot's uniforms. Athrun wears his red one during all the first 50 episodes, and changes only when he's assigned to FAITH and is given the ZGMF-X23S Saviour Gundam by the Chairman. He puts on another purple one at the end of Destiny, as a soldier of Orb.
Civilian Outfits
At the begining of Destiny, Athrun who is now standing at the Representative of Orb - Cagalli's side as her bodyguard, has to keep is identity a secret. And so we discover him - or better said Alex Dino - wearing this civilian outfit and this extremely stylish pair of glasses.
We do not often see Athrun wearing civilian clothes, but one thing seems to be sure : Athrun loves wearing those glasses :D When leaving the ship for a shopping excursion with Kira, Lacus and Meyrin, we discover him in a new outfit but always with the glasses. Of course, Athrun was extremely stressed about leaving the ship and taking risks for such a futile reason, and so he wanted to be as discrete as possible... Even if the other does not bother about such a thing at all !
The last civilian outfit we see Athrun in is during the very last episode, when they meet together with Kira, Lacus, Shinn, Lunamaria and Meyrin. His outfit is really darker than usual (this outfit looks a bit more like what Kira is used to wear), but there's still a bit of green and red, or else, it wouldn't be Athrun :D
Unexpected Outfits
We've seen Athrun in uniforms, in many Pilot's outfits, and thanks to Meer, we've even been able to catch a little bit of Athrun's waking up not fully dressed, of course :D This episode was so extremely funny : Athrun waking up, finding Meer in his bed - just what the hell was she doing in his bed ? - and finding himself before her with nothing on but a T-shirt and his short.He is so shocked, trying hard to understand the situation and to remember what on earth had happened ? He's awkwardly looking at himself, was even to open the door dressed like this before remembering to put his trousers on.
Well, unfortunately, it's the on and only time we have a glimpse of Athrun in such an outfit. However, like every hero of Gundam SEED, there's inevitably a moment when we see him under his shower, and there, I guess it does not need any comment... <3
the Red Knight and Fashion
There's a big quantity of scans of Athrun where we see him in various outfits - that are not seen in the serie, that is. From the wonderful Red Knight outfit to other casual clothes, it's really great and feels really strange to see him dressed like that. It can be very stylish or feel a bit old-fashioned, but there, it all depends on your tastes :D

The name
& the meanings behind
Athrun or Asuran in japanese means "daybreak" or "dawn" which refers to his love, Cagalli in multiple ways. For example, Cagalli's last gundam she gets in Gundam SEED Destiny, Akatsuki. Akatsuki is also another expression for dawn. Also the resistence group Cagalli joins is known as the Desert Dawn. Also the company that built the original 5 Gundams (Aegis, Strike, Buster, Blitz, Duel) is named Morgenroete and is based in Orb. Morgenroete is German and means dawn too. We see again, Mitsuo Fukada, the creator of Gundam SEED, always thought those two as a couple too :D
