I will survive 这首歌的由来：

1978年春天Gloria Gaynor在欧洲登台时不小心跌落舞台，使她脊髓受损并卧病在床达9个月之久，加上复健期间母亲又去世，这许多的打击几乎让她崩溃。

康复后她努力振作，合作写下这首“I Will Survive”证明自己战胜了怯懦，这首“I Will Survive”的推出，便将Gloria Gaynor推上事业的巅峰。就如同歌词所写到的"I've Got All My Life To Live，I Will Survive一样。

1978年12月这首歌开始进榜从87名一直窜升到6周冠军，1980年这首歌更是获得了葛莱美奖史上唯一的一座“最佳迪斯科录音”大奖，I Will Survive从此成为经典。
